Preparing your Quilt
Here is a short list of things that you can do to ensure the best outcome during the quilting process.
Do not baste your quilt top to the backing
Trim loose threads (long threads can show through the quilt top)
Please make sure there are no embellishments to your quilt top. Buttons and beads cannot be quilted.
Press your quilt top and backing (all seams should be pressed open or folds can occur).
Check for open seams (it happens, sometimes we all miss them but if the machine gets caught in an open seam, it can tear the quilt top)
Quilt Backing - Your Quilt Backing should be 4” larger on all sides of the quilt. For example, if your quilt is 50” x 50” your backing should measure 58” x 58”.
If your backing is pieced the seams should be 3/4” so that the seam can be pressed open. Not doing this can cause bulk at the seam.
